Our story: The heart behind the product

Becoming a parent is a journey like no other. It’s transformative, beautiful, and—let’s be honest—exhausting. I’m Mimi, a mother of two and the founder of The Cot and Cradle Company. Like many parents, I’ve experienced the sleepless nights, the desperate rocking, and the endless search for solutions to help my baby find calm and comfort.

Before founding The Cot and Cradle Company, I spent over a decade working with some of the world’s leading organizations—Google, The Economist, and the World Bank Group. My background in public policy gave me a unique skillset: problem-solving with a focus on innovation and impact. But nothing prepared me for the challenges of parenthood.

When my first daughter was born, I realized how much parents need products that truly work—ones that are thoughtfully designed, safe, and made with love. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just functional but also beautiful, blending seamlessly into a home while offering real solutions for sleep-deprived parents.

From sleepless nights to Shushiie

The idea for Shushiie came to me during a sleepless night, cradling my baby in my arms. I wanted to design a product that didn’t just “do the job” but would do it well. After years of research, development, and testing, Shushiie was born: a customizable sleep speaker that combines functionality with elegance. Every detail was carefully considered—from the soothing sounds to the timeless design—because I know firsthand how much the little things matter.
